Unlike cars, there are significant differences between NSW and Queensland truck licencing.
NSW operates under a Competency Based Assessment Scheme (where Training and Assessment is delivered by private operators, with authority delegated by Transport for NSW via an accredited RTO).
In Queensland, training is delivered by private instructors, however assessment is conducted directly by TMR. This is true for all vehicle classes up to HC. MC in Queensland operates under a Competency Based Assessment Scheme.
Where a Competency Based Assessment Scheme exists, addition skills are necessary. This is why qualifications in training & assessment also form part of the requirement.
